To date the poll stands at 72% for 2022 and only 28% for 2021. So, by a majority decision, it has been decided to cancel the event for this year and come back bigger and stronger in 2022.
It has been a hard decision to make, but with the safety of everyone in mind, it is the right decision.
Although there will now be a five-year gap since the last TR8 Day, we hope that it will not deter you from getting your TR8 ready for next year. We have an ambitious target of 50 cars and have already signed up 9 cars. Our sister club in the USA, the TWOA, have confirmed that a number of their members will be attending together with owners from Europe including Holland, Sweden & Ireland with their cars, so it will be a truly international affair.
Over the last year, a number of TR8’s that have not been seen before/for some time, will be attending. These include the only factory-built Spider TR8 and number 13 of the 18 which has not been seen for over 14 years. Add to this the 8’s that have been restored recently, so there will be interests for everyone.
Should you wish to see some of these cars, please click on the Databases or TR8 Days buttons on the front page.
If you have decided to visit Gaydon this year, Brian and I are hoping to attend on Sunday 11th July so we look forward seeing those of you that might come out for a day in the open air.
Best regards, happy TR8ing and above all stay safe.
